Spurs Reworked: Nicole Chui x Studio Honeymoone
Customising, reworking, and reimagining football wear is having a moment. Beyond fashion, in the growing scene of women’s sports, it’s finding community and empowering women that’s at the forefront. At this intersection sits Nicole Chui and Studio Honeymoone’s new collaboration. Inspired by prominent figures in the Spurs Women community, they’ve launched two bespoke, hand-embroidered corset football shirts, just in time for the start of the 26/27 WSL season.
This collaboration sees London-based embroidery artist and lifelong Spurs fan Nicole Chui join forces with designer Grace Whitehouse, founder of Manchester up-cycling label Studio Honeymoone, to transform football shirts and celebrate the people helping shape the culture around Spurs Women.
The first, ‘Jess’ is inspired by presenter and official Spurs Women DJ Jess Iszatt. Chui first met Iszatt during a panel discussion around the growth of women’s football. The shirt has a cropped hem, corseted construction, lacing, and an ombré trim, while Chui’s impressive hand embroidery brings colour and movement to the piece.

For Chui, showing how Iszatts' energy on matchday has become part of the soundtrack to Spurs Women, was central to the design. “Jess represents a real shift in the culture of women’s football. Her passion for the game is so infectious. There’s something magnetic about the noise and energy of her sets – I wanted the embroidery to feel as alive and vibrant as she does."
Chuis embroidery is so expressive it is as though you can see the energy running through the piece. It’s playful and unapologetically feminine, without losing the identity of the football shirt underneath.

The second design, ‘Amber’, takes its inspiration from footballer and fitness content creator Amber Taylor, by exploring femininity through strength. The structured silhouette is paired with pleated lace, and nature-inspired embroidery from Chui. The result is a piece that feels resilient, reflecting Taylor’s advocacy for women to become “stronger, not smaller.”

There are important messages woven in to the creation of these desgins, and as the game continues to grow, so does the space for the celebration of cultures that make being a football fan so much more than just 90 minutes on a pitch. As the founder of Baes FC, a grassroots football community for women, trans women and non-binary people of Asian heritage, Chui has long been an advocate for these messages. And in the artistry of the shirts, it’s as though you can feel her passion carry through. Her work is rooted in a deep understanding of identity, belonging and the importance of creating spaces where people feel represented.
That’s what makes these shirts exciting to me. We often see collaborations in this industry, but this idea being tied directly to women in the game, created by women, is inspiring. It’s a fashion collaboration, but almost more importantly, a celebration of the community itself.
‘Jess’ and “Amber” are both available to pre-order now. Each hand-customised piece is embroidered in London and Manchester and will be available exclusively through Studio Honeymoone.
