The Role

As our Junior Women's Football Social Media Journalist, you'll help bridge the gap between traditional sports journalism and modern digital content creation.

You'll be proactive, creative and enthusiastic, with the confidence to work independently as well as collaboratively. A genuine passion for women's football, storytelling and social media is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Write engaging weekly articles covering women's football, from on-pitch action to the wider culture surrounding the game.

  • Pitch, develop and help produce original and branded social media content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and other platforms.

  • Film and confidently interview fans, players and talent for a variety of digital content formats.

  • Carry out basic video editing for short-form social content.

  • Support the wider GIRLACTICO team in crucial growth areas, including project management, brand relationships, and community management

  • Stay up to date with developments across women's football, social media trends and emerging content formats.

About You

  • A genuine passion for women's football and the culture that surrounds the game.

  • A good understanding of overall football tactics and the women's game, including players & the game.

  • Experience creating content focused on women's football across social media, digital platforms or personal channels.

  • Experience interviewing fans, players or other talent, either professionally or through your own content.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce engaging articles and opinion pieces.

  • Confidence presenting on camera and contributing to video content.

  • A solid understanding of social media platforms, trends and how content performs across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X.

  • Basic video editing skills using software such as CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar.

  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work well in a fast-paced start-up environment.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • A willingness to work evenings and weekends when required, particularly around matchdays and major football events.

  • Previous experience in journalism, sports media or digital publishing is desirable but not essential.

Closing Date: Friday 10th July
