There’s something special about Wembley during the international break. Whether you’re a seasoned match-day regular or a newcomer still figuring out which entrance is yours, you’re stepping into a space where the women’s game takes centre stage, unapologetically. The crowd is vibrant, the football is elite and the energy feels like a collective reminder that this sport belongs to all of us. If this is your first visit, welcome. If you’ve been before, you already know: Wembley never stops delivering.

Getting to Wembley
Getting to Wembley is easier than you think, whether you live in London or are travelling from outside the city. If you’re already in London, the quickest move is to jump on the Jubilee or Metropolitan Line straight to Wembley Park. From there, it’s just a short stroll up Olympic Way and suddenly you’re in the heart of the pre-match buzz.
Coming from outside London? You’ll probably arrive at King’s Cross, London Bridge, or Victoria. From King’s Cross St Pancras, hop on the Metropolitan Line straight to Wembley Park. From Victoria, take the Victoria Line to Green Park and then switch to the Jubilee Line. From London Bridge, the Jubilee Line takes you directly to the stadium. For those coming from further afield, trains to Wembley Stadium Station from Marylebone drop you practically at the turnstiles. Leave plenty of time, matchday crowds build fast.
Girlactico’s top tip: download Citymapper before you go. It gives live updates, platform info, and the fastest route, so you can arrive stress-free, grab a coffee or a quick bite and fully soak up the pre-match energy while everyone else is still guessing which line to take.
Before the Game: Where to Eat Drink and Soak Up the Buzz
The pre-match vibe at Wembley is half the fun. For a quick affordable bite there is a Co-op just up Olympic Way where you can grab a sandwich snack or drink before joining the crowds.
If a pub vibe is more your speed there are a few local gems just off Olympic Way that are quieter and relaxed. The Torch, The Crock of Gold, The Parish Bar and The Wembley Tavern are all perfect for a pint or soft drink while you chat tactics with friends.
For merch lovers there are unofficial stalls along Olympic Way selling pins, scarves and other matchday treats. Leave time to snap a fun picture with the lights of Wembley behind you because honestly it makes the most picture-perfect instagram moment.
Inside the Stadium: Kick-Off Essentials
Wembley is massive so check your ticket and head to the right entrance. Bags are searched for safety so only bring the essentials. A bag smaller than an A4 piece of paper works best or you’ll need to use the cloakroom. Bring your ID, phone, keys and wallet and leave big bottles, glass or umbrellas at home.
Merch is everywhere, so leave some time to snag something cute. The Wembley Stadium Store near the Ticket Office has all the shirts, scarves and all the souvenirs you could ever want, while the pop-up stalls on the concourse are perfect for a quick grab.
Food is everywhere too and it’s actually good! Think hot dogs, burgers, fried chicken, pizza, pies, and yes, there are vegan and veggie options as well. Grab something early or brace yourself for the classic half-time queue. Drinks are easy to find too. Soft drinks, draught bars and bottle bars are dotted all over the concourse. You can buy alcohol, but you can’t take it into the seating area and there’s a four-drink limit per transaction.
Once you’ve got your merch, snacks and drinks sorted, just find your seat, soak in the scale of Wembley and get ready to scream for every goal, tackle and chant!
After the Game: Celebrate at BOXPARK
Once the final whistle blows and your voice is hoarse from cheering, don’t rush off just yet. BOXPARK Wembley is the ultimate post-match hangout and for the England vs China women’s game the on 29th of November 2025, they’re hosting a Lionesses Fanpark event to keep the energy going.
Grab a cold drink, tuck into something tasty from tacos to loaded fries or vegan bowls and join the crowd dancing, meeting people and celebrating the game. There are indoor seats if you want to take a breather, but it gets busy so grab one early or embrace the standing-room energy.

Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, a day at Wembley during the international break is pure magic. Soak up every moment, snap a few pics and enjoy the football, the atmosphere and the memories, Wembley never disappoints.
