Tackling Skincare Like A Pro
We’re kicking things off strong with the queen of skincare herself, Emily Fox. Since joining Arsenal, it’s not just her pace and defensive skills turning heads, Emily Fox’s glow has fans asking for her skincare secrets. We’ve got the inside scoop on her full morning and evening routine, and trust us, it's a good one.
Morning Routine: Game-Day Glow
We all know the saying: look good, feel good, play good. Whether you're an athlete, or just want to show up your best in whatever you do, starting your day with a simple set of skincare rituals can make all the difference.
Fox keeps it simple but effective. She starts her day with Dr Althea’s Vitamin C serum, a brightening boost that hydrates and gives that fresh, morning glow. Tested and trialed, this one really works. It gives you that lit-from-within look that makes you skip makeup altogether, and leaves people asking what you've used.
Then comes the non-negotiable: SPF. We know you've heard it before, but this one is serious. Whether you're in an office or out on the pitch, SPF is your real POTM. It's not just about anti-aging, it's about keeping your skin safe. The face is sensitive, and UV rays don't take the day off (even in winter...), and yeah, you might not see them, but they definetly see you... Emily swears by Ultra Violette’s Future Fluid SPF; an ultra lightweight SPF that doesn't leave that sticky finish we all hate. She finishes it off with Shisedio’s Sports BB cream, also packed with SPF 50 and a touch of pigment for a natural, even look that lasts through training. With all that SPF, Fox won't be aging anytime soon!
Evening Routine
We all know the end of the day can be exhausting. Skipping a face wash or crashing with makeup still on happens to the best of us. But Emily's evening routine...? That's one you definitely won't want to skip.
Emily starts with a double cleanse, the holy grail step for anyone serious about clean skin, using a combination of Dr Althea’s Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm and Youth of the People’s Superfood Cleanser. One wash might seem like enough, but there's always spots we miss or dirt depper than we think. Double cleansing makes sure your skin is fresh and ready for a new day.
Hydration is key, and Emily uses the Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Lotion, which leaves the skin glassy and glowy. Similar to the Vitamin C serum, this is one that will leave people asking where you got it. She then goes in with Cocokind’s Retinol, a gentle formula for boosting collagen and smoothing fine lines, before sealing it all in with Torriden’s Dive In Cream for a moisturised finish.
Of course, everyone’s skin is different. Those with drier skin might love using all three steps, while oilier skin types could skip one or two. For combination skin, a little experimentation helps find the perfect balance.
While some of Fox’s favourites lean on the pricer side, plenty of her stables are surprisingly affordable. If you’re looking to build you own Fox-inspired lineup, start with Dr Athlea’s Cleansing Balm and Vitamin C Serum, plus the Torriden Moisturiser. And don't skip SPF, Garnier’s Vitamin C and SPF 50 is a great drugstore dupe that gives a glow without the price tag, whilst also acting as a nice base under makeup. The Inkey List has a great array of affordable eye-creams, and their retinol one can serve as a great alternative for the Cocokind gel.
Whether you want to try the Fox-certified products, or the budget-friendly alternatives, the key is keeping your skin clean, hydrated and protected. Let your routine work as hard as you do!
