If football had a playlist, WSL club anthems would be the ultimate hype tracks, alongside one chant for every club. They set the mood before kick off, bring fans together and sometimes even make people emotional in the stands. Whether you love a big singalong moment or a catchy chant you can belt out with your mates, these songs and chants are such a core part of matchday magic.

So let’s talk about the anthems and standout chants that give the WSL its main character energy.

Liverpool: You’ll Never Walk Alone

This one is iconic for a reason. Originally from the musical Carousel, You’ll Never Walk Alone has become one of the most famous football songs in the world. When Liverpool fans sing it together, scarves up high, it is impossible not to get chills. And honestly, even as an Arsenal fan, this song is right up there as one of my all-time favourites. In the WSL it keeps that same emotional power, all about solidarity, togetherness and shared love for the game. It hits every single time.

A Liverpool Chant!

We love you, Liverpool, we do!

We love you, Liverpool, we do!

We love you, Liverpool, we do!

Oh, Liverpool, we love you!

West Ham: I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles

Probably the most fun anthem on the list, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles has been a West Ham staple since 1919 and is full of old-school charm. It is cheerful, slightly dramatic, and gloriously over-the-top, especially when real bubbles are floating around the stadium as fans sing along. The whole thing feels wonderfully on brand for matchday, capturing that hopeful, dreamy football energy where anything feels possible and you convince yourself this is going to be a special day.

A West Ham Chant!

West Ham till I die,

I'm West Ham till I die,

I know I am, I'm sure I am,

I'm West Ham till I die...

Arsenal: North London Forever

This is the one that gets me every time. Maybe it’s because I’m an Arsenal fan, maybe it’s just because the song really works but North London Forever feels like the perfect matchday mood. It’s not overly showy or dramatic, it’s warm and real, the kind of song that sneaks up on you and suddenly you’re singing along without even realising. When it rolls around the Emirates before an Arsenal Women game and everyone joins in, it feels less like an anthem and more like a shared moment, a reminder that football is about belonging as much as winning. Low-key emotional, totally authentic and one of my favourite parts of matchday.

We’ve won the FA Cup,

Fourteen times and counting,

We’re never gonna stop.

Champions of Europe,

The only in the land, (NOT EVEN CHELSEA!)

We’ll sing it in the North Bank,

And through to the East Stand!

Allez allez allez,

Allez allez allez,

Allez allez allez,

Allez allez allez.

Manchester United: Glory Glory Man United

At Old Trafford or away, Glory Glory Man United hits differently. The anthem is pure fan energy, sung loud and proud, with everyone joining in like one unstoppable wave. It’s fun, fierce and full of tradition, the kind of song that makes you feel part of something bigger the moment it starts. Whether celebrating a goal, rallying the team or just soaking in matchday vibes, it’s impossible not to get swept up in it.

A Manchester United Chant!

*to the tune of Freed from desire

Tooney's on fire,

Your defence is terrified.

Tooney's on fire,

Your defence is terrified.

Oooh!

Na na na na na na na na na na na.

Na na na na na na na na na na na.

Manchester City: Blue Moon

There’s something effortlessly cool about Blue Moon. It feels like the chic, slow-build moment before the chaos kicks off, with the melody floating around the stadium and everyone swaying along under the lights. It’s less shouty terrace energy and more stylish, main-character singalong, setting the mood before the volume gets turned all the way up. And once the final notes fade, that calm doesn’t last long, because it quickly flips into fast chants and big “Come on City” callouts that snap the crowd straight into matchday mode.

A Manchester City Chant!

We've got Shaw, Bunny, Bunny, Shaw.

I just don't think you understand.

Number 21, scoring goals for fun.

Best centre forward in the land!

Everton: Spirit of the Blues

Everton do things their own way and their anthem shows it. Spirit of the Blues echoes around the stadium as fans sing with pride, turning the song into a powerful expression of loyalty to the club. It carries emotion and tradition in equal measure, building an atmosphere that swells with belief and togetherness, letting everyone know exactly what it means to be Everton.

An Everton Chant!

I've never felt more like singin' the Blues.

When Everton win and Liverpool lose.

Oh, Everton, you've got me singin' the Blues.

Chelsea: The Liquidator

Chelsea’s walkout song The Liquidator is pure stadium vibes. That reggae groove has been getting fans moving since the late 60s and even without lyrics, the crowd turns it into full-on energy. You’ll hear claps, cheers and the occasional cheeky “We hate Tottenham, Chelsea!” The lightshow adds that extra wow factor, making the moment feel electric. When the team runs out, scarves waving and everyone bouncing, it’s just iconic matchday magic.

A Chelsea Chant!

We know what we are,

We know what we are.

Champions of England!

We know what we are.

Six times in a row,

Six times in a row.

Champions of England!

Six times in a row.

Tottenham: Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs fans bring so much energy when Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur starts up. The chant fills the stands, everyone clapping, stomping and singing together like one big squad. It’s cheeky, playful and full of pride, especially when you’re matching the North London rivalry energy. The anthem isn’t just a song, it’s a moment, a way to show love for the team, hype each other up and make every matchday feel bigger, louder and totally electric.

A Spurs Chant!

Oh when the Spurs, go marching in,

Oh when the Spurs, go marching in.

I wanna be in that number,

Oh when the Spurs go marching in.

It's Time To Join In!

From emotional singalongs to stadium-shaking chants, WSL anthems are so much more than just pre-kick-off noise. They tell each club’s story, connect generations of fans and turn matchdays into shared rituals full of pride, passion and community. Whether it’s the chills that come with You’ll Never Walk Alone, the bubbles floating through a West Ham crowd or the cool sway of Blue Moon under the lights, these songs are the soundtrack to the league’s biggest moments.

In the end, it’s not just about the lyrics or the melodies; it’s about thousands of voices coming together to back their teams. That’s what gives the WSL its unmistakable main-character energy and why every anthem and chant feels like a reminder that football is always better when it’s sung together.
